As a Brit, is it relatively easy to find work in Canada?

My husband and I are looking to emigrate to Canada and have been advised that we will need a job offer and work permit first. Contrary to what some people have said, I have recently been told that there is a good chance of a UK person being offered a job if they have the relevant skills and that there is a shortage of IT people, my husband works in IT so that is great news for us. However, the wages for an IT person are similar to over here so you may not be much better off except for living in a much bigger and more beautiful country of course. I would suggest getting in touch with employment agencies out there and also looking on all job sites that show jobs that have LMO (labour market opinion) status already as they will be the only ones eligible to offer a job to a non-Canadian. Also, try and get to the next Emigrate show I went to one recently and got tons of info.
