Irrigation back-flow preventer leak?

Have been using system for a month and all of a sudden the white plastic piece on the bottom of the back-flow preventer is leaking quite steadily. I stuck my finger up to put pressure on it and I can feel some pressure. Is there a seal of some sort that I am not aware of? How come it just started? I know that last question seems a bit lame. Any help would be appreciated
