Boy drama...best and fastest gets 10...?

ok so...i was in the hospital for a month and a half in october, my boyfriend and i decided to not do anything special for our 1 year cuz i was broke from being in there so long...well the day before our 1 year he decides to tell me he's getting me a gift, a pool cue (thats our things cuz i met him at a bar while he was playing pool and he taught me how to play) it's really pretty and my fav color and its a mcdermott. so it's super nice...well i decided to make him something since i was broke...so i made a card with a cute little poem inside and drew a picture that i always draw for him when im bored at work...and i gave him a pic of us from the first day we met that he never saw before...i thought it was sweet but hes freakin out on me cuz i didn't give him something that was meanin full...which isn't tru it took awhile to make the card! he says i just thru something together quick and let it be...so does he have the right to be mad at me? or should he be understanding that i was broke because i spent the last month in the hospital and i atleast tried by drawing this card and giving him the only copy of that picture i had
